Letter from RAYB President

New Website - Introducing Crossbar

There are some big changes at rayb.org. We've moved from SportsEngine to Crossbar for our website, registration, rostering, payments, etc.

- Crossbar gives us a number of improvements, including:
- Simpler user interface
- Easier site and content management
- Better field scheduling capabilities
- Improved registration and invoice functionality
- Player calendar allows you to add your player's calendar to your Google, Outlook, or other preferred calendar once, and you never have to add it again for future seasons

Ang Dezelske, our Registration Director, has spent numerous hours working with the RAYB board to get this live and update all of the content, and more updates are coming soon.

Travel Tryouts - Saturday, September 11

Anyone interested in 2022 travel baseball needs to sign up for tryouts by Thursday, September 9. Even if you are unable to attend the tryout, your player must be registered to be considered for a roster spot on a travel team.

Tryouts are free and the registration link can be found here: https://www.rayb.org/registration/1499.

TRYOUT REMINDERS

Please arrive 15 minutes before your tryout time to get signed in.

Things to bring:

- water bottle
- bat (If you have one)
- batting helmet
- glove
- cleats

Players are not allowed to wear any clothing with their name on it or that indicates any club ball/ travel team status, including their travel team jerseys.

Parents are not allowed to stay and watch the tryout. You may help get your child checked in and then leave the premises. Please return at the designated end time to pick your child up. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Travel Coach Applications

Anyone interested in coaching a 2022 travel team must apply by September 15 to be considered. You can apply to be a coach here: https://www.rayb.org/coaching-resources/coaching-application/2400

New Registration Pricing for Travel

In past seasons, including 2021, the cost for our travel program was split into 3 payments:

Registration fee - $320 (9U-12U) or $375 (13U & 14U)
Tryout fee - $50
End-of-season assessment - ~$90-175

This meant that the total cost of our travel program was $460-600 per player, not just the $320 or $375 we charged for registration.

RAYB has worked to simplify our registration process and give families a more predictable pricing structure. Our registration cost for 2022 will be $450 for all travel teams, 9U-14U.

Travel registration will open 3 weeks after tryouts and will include the cost of tryouts, uniforms, team equipment, umpires, 3 in-season tournaments, and 1 automatic state tournament bid. RAYB will no longer manage tryout fees and additional assessments for each team as separate costs from registration.

Scholarship Options

Any RAYB family who needs financial assistance is strongly encouraged to apply for a scholarship here.

Our goal is to ensure that cost is not a factor in a child's ability to participate in youth baseball.

Open Board Positions

Our board elections are coming up on October 19. Any member of RAYB is welcome to run for any position.

Here are several key roles we still need to fill:

- Field Maintenance Director
- Rec League Director
- C League Commissioner
- B League Commissioner
- Fundraising Director
- Volunteer Coordinator
- Umpire Coordinator
- State Tournament Coordinator
- Concessions Co-Coordinator

Once again, thank you for your involvement in RAYB. If you have any questions or would like to be more involved, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
