Volunteer Requirement
Updated May 2025
RAYB operates through the work of volunteers. Baseball opportunities for the youth in the Roseville community would not be possible without volunteer work. RAYB, like most youth sport organizations, requires that families of all players provide volunteer (unpaid) work to help run our organization.
Who is covered by this policy?
All players in the following RAYB leagues:
- C, B, and A Recreation Leagues
- 9U-14U Travel teams
What is the requirement?
Each household will be required to participate in 2 shifts of approved RAYB volunteer activities per child on a team in one of the covered leagues listed above. There will be a maximum of 4 shifts per family. If a household does not want to, or is unwilling to participate in the volunteer activities, they may pay a fee of $200 per child at the time of registration, maximum of $400 per family. If the volunteer shifts are not completed by August 31st, families will automatically be charged $300 per child fee to the credit card on file (maximum of $600 per family).
How will the volunteer requirement be tracked?
Tracking of volunteer shifts for those families that do not pay the opt-out fee will be done within the Volunteer section of your Account in Crossbar, on the RAYB.org website. At the end of the season, the volunteer coordinator will determine which households did not fulfill the volunteer requirement and send those names to the registration director. Any household that didn’t meet the requirement will be assessed the applicable fee at the end of the current season. Prior year fees must be paid before families are able to register their children for the following season.
What are typical volunteer opportunities?
Generally, volunteer opportunities will fall under two categories: team functions or league functions.
Team Functions:
- Coaching: One head coach and two assistants per team
- Team manager
League Functions:
- Board or committee positions
- Concession stand duties
- Field clean-up day
- Year-end Jamboree and hosted tournament activities
How do I sign up for volunteer shifts, and how will the volunteer requirement be tracked?
All volunteer opportunities are available on the RAYB.org website under the Volunteer section (https://www.rayb.org/dashboard/volunteer). This is also where volunteer requirement shifts will be tracked for those families that do not pay the opt-out fee. This is not visible through the crossbar app, you must be on the website.
How to check your volunteer hours:
Log in to RAYB.org and navigate to your Dashboard. Click on the Volunteer page from your left-hand menu. From this page, you can: View your Required, Completed, Committed & Remaining volunteer shifts. This is also where you will sign up for volunteer shifts (see screenshots below).

We currently have open Volunteer spots for concessions at Evergreen and Owasso.
Future Shift:
- Playoff Concessions: Early July
- 9U State Tournament July 11-13
- Rec League Year end Jamboree (TBD, typically end of July)
NOTE: If the volunteer shifts are required and are not completed by August 31st, families will automatically be charged $300 per child fee to the credit card on file (maximum of $600 per family).
