RAYB Rec League Offers Options for All Ages

Greetings from the RAYB Recreation League!

Roseville Area Youth Baseball offers amazing opportunities for anyone who loves baseball!

Our Recreation League provides a fun and instructional environment for boys and girls of all ages and for adults to share their passion for baseball by coaching and volunteering. The goal of our Recreation League is to create a fun, positive, inclusive and engaging program where kids can develop their skills as ballplayers and create great and lasting relationships with new friends.  Please check out the updated RAYB Rec League Page for details on opportunities for kids from Kindergarten to High School.

We Need Volunteers!

Concession Committee Chair - we are looking for someone to run our Concessions program. This is such an important fundraising program for our organization and we need someone to step up and help out. If interested, we can talk about waiving future volunteer duties. Please contact Fabe Roers for more details.

RAYB Swag (Apparel) Design - we are looking for a creative person to work on pulling together a set of RAYB branded clothing for families to buy and wear for 2019 season. Please contact Fabe Roers for more details.

Coaches and Managers for 2019 Season - We are looking for head coaches, assistant coaches and managers to help with the 2019  season at every level. No experience needed - just a passion and understanding of baseball. We will provide support with training.  Please fill out the RAYB Coach / Manager application or contact the Commissioner of your league if interested.

Please refer to the DIBS page as the season starts for volunteer opportunities to help keep our fields clean, organize our equipment, and run our concession stands throughout the season.

Schedule reminder for Saturday, FEB 23rd:
9U -- 7:30 - 8:30pm @ MN Blizzard Academy
10U -- 8:30 - 9:30pm @ MN Blizzard Academy

Each week the sessions will get more advanced - the first week we will develop a better understanding of the group size & experience level. The new venues will take some time to adjust to - as the sessions continue you will see more organization and better use of space.

What can I do as a parent?  PLEASE emphasize to your player the importance of listening closely and staying focused. This will certainly help us organize and run the sessions smoothly as well.  One hour is not ideal for a baseball practice – the more the players listen and follow instruction the more reps everyone will get in.

What To Bring:

  • Cleats or Athletic Shoes (NO METAL CLEATS)
  • Batting Helmet
  • Bat (If you have one)
  • Water Bottle

FYI - Although we have dedicated tryout sessions, we will be using the workouts to assess talent, individually and as an age group. Showing focus, listening well to the coaches, staying on task and applying what is being taught will help all players during the workouts and in the travel tryouts in March. We appreciate your help in emphasizing these points with your player(s).

Attendance for each workout is not mandatory and will not affect a player's chances to make a travel team. Demonstrating a positive approach in these workout sessions may help your child make a travel team. Coaches will be watching - try hard, while having fun!

If you have any questions about these workouts or travel baseball in general please contact RAYB Travel Director, Matt Arntzen (
