2019 Volunteer Hours Due - Penalty Charges To Be Processed Aug 31st

We've come to the end of the 2019 Spring/Summer Season! You'll recall that as part of registration this year (for applicable ages & leagues), there was an option to commit to performing the applicable volunteer hours or paying an opt-out fee.

Most families chose to commit to the volunteer hours, and for those, there was a pending charge of $249 that was scheduled for August 31st, applicable ONLY if those hours weren't completed. This model is the same as used by Roseville Hockey and other area associations.

Many RAYB families have already completed the required hours, and we thank you for your time & commitment!

There are still a few families that have not yet completed their volunteer hours. The pending charge will be processed on Aug. 31st

We have an upcoming, additional volunteer opportunity (see details below). If slots are claimed & completed for this event, RAYB will REFUND the volunteer fee charged immediately after the event.

Please contact RAYB Volunteer Coordinator, Gretchen Unseth (gunseth27@yahoo.com) for questions about volunteer hours or status.

Fall Baseball Information -- What You Need to Know

RAYB does not offer a Fall Baseball League – however many of our players still participate in Fall Baseball through MYAS. Here are some key points to know if this option might be of interest.

  • Talk with friends/other parents to see if there is a group of players interested in playing together. You will need to have a willing coach(es) too!
  • Register the team (or individuals) for a specific age group through MYAS (including payment)
  • RAYB will help you/the team with a practice field, knowing what days are open for practices and scheduling home games, and provide the team equipment needed for the season.
  • MYAS has Recreational and Competitive teams at each age level
  • FYI – register & play at the age level applicable for the 2020 season (a year older than played in the 2019 spring/summer season)

If your son/daughter wants to continue to play baseball in the fall – start the conversation with your current team, coaches, and other parents at the same age level. Your current coach can help connect with other current teams, as needed. Once you have an interested group of players and a coach(es), RAYB can help you get registered with MYAS and help coordinate fields and equipment!

As a reminder, RAYB does not set-up the teams or collect any money from the registrations. So sharing your player's interest in playing and finding others interested as well is the first step and should be started now.

If you have any questions, or if you have a team/group interested that needs help (such as, fields and equipment), please contact Matthew O'Brien (obrie744@d.umn.edu).
