    RAYB COVID Policy Update

By Roseville Baseball 05/10/2021, 3:30pm CDT

MDH Changes from May 6th Incorporated

The Minnesota Department of Health updated their COVID-19 Organized Sports Practice and Games Guidance for Youth and Adults on May 6, 2021. Based on corresponding policy updates from MYAS and with approval from the City of Roseville and City of Maplewood, RAYB has updated our COVID-19 policy, effective immediately.

In short, MDH has changed nearly all previous requirements for outdoor youth sports to recommendations. The only outstanding requirement for outdoor events applies specifically to events with over 500 participants, which is larger than any RAYB event. This means previous requirements related to mask usage, distancing, etc. are no longer in place for outdoor events.

Unless MDH requirements get more restrictive again, we expect this will be the last updated from RAYB regarding our COVID policy. Our only mask requirement that remains in place is for concessions workers (once we have approval from the county health department to open the concessions stands), and that will remain in place until the state's indoor mask requirement is lifted. Quarantine requirements for close contacts and positive cases remain in place as well.

Thank you all for your support and patience as we've worked with this evolving situation to begin the season. We encourage all RAYB participants to support and accommodate anyone who continues to follow more restrictive recommendations that go beyond the latest requirements.
