RAYB B and C League Team Formation Approach
RAYB builds its baseball rosters for C and B leagues with the objective of balancing fun and competition.
To accomplish this, our registration fields include details such as years of experience, pitching or catching experience for B league, school, and friend requests.
When building rosters, RAYB commissioners will look at these fields. We will aim to meet a reciprocal friend request, include players from the same school, but balance that with player experience. The assumption is that the more years of experience will produce a better skilled player.
Players are not drafted by coaches. Instead commissioners assign rosters. We also rely on volunteer coaches. Because coaches, players and rosters will inevitably be of different skills levels, RAYB offers a few added training options for rec league players.
Also, commissioners will release a game schedule for approximately the first half of the season. After the first half of the season, teams with similar records will be matched against each for the rest of the season. For the league playoffs, teams from those groupings will play each other in a tournament.
RAYB is a baseball association run by volunteers. We seek to make an experience for players that encourages fun and allows for good competition. We welcome input from the members of our association. The parents and players are members of this association, and we can only succeed with your patience and input, but also your involvement. The league structure is organized by its members. When faced with challenges, these challenges are fixed by the initiative of the association members.
