Scholarships / Financial Aid

RAYB does not want potential participants to be deprived of the chance to play baseball for financial reasons. Therefore, the association has created a scholarship program where families in need can apply for reduced registration fees.

To apply for a scholarship, The Financial Aid Form needs to be completed in its entirety. Scholarship requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Scholarship Committee. Once the form is reviewed and a decision has been made, the Registration Director will email the parent/guardian the decision along with a Discount Code to use during the Registration process.

Eligibility

All RAYB participants that either live in the boundaries of Independent School District 623, or attend a school within those same boundaries, are eligible for scholarships to be applied to toward registration fees. Scholarships are not available for winter workouts, development clinic fees, additional fees that may be incurred mid-season in the travel program, or any other RAYB-sanctioned programs or offerings. Families that do not meet the boundary requirements are not eligible to receive scholarships.

Funding

Scholarships are funded by donations from other families and neighboring businesses. If the amount of scholarships needed exceeds the amount of donations, the Association will try to maximize participation by using operating funds to cover the needs of our families.

Awards

The scholarship committee may elect to award requesting families up to 50% percent of the registration fee. Unused scholarships (because the player withdrew from the program) are not transferable and cannot be used for another player. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is November 30th for 9U-14U travel teams and March 1 for recreation teams.
